How to Care

General Care

Below are some easy-care instructions to help look after your WAIATA jewellery and keep it
in great condition:
  •  Store your jewellery ideally flat in a box or bowl.
  • Clean gently with a soft cloth. using a nut or plant oil on the wood.
  • It is best not to sleep, shower or exercise whilst wearing your jewellery.
  • Avoid dropping your jewellery onto hard surfaces as the impact can weaken or breakthe piece.

Sprays and creams including soap, perfume, moisturiser and sun cream can cause damage to some pieces and metal components, so it is best to remove your jewellery before using any of these products.

Maintenance

For maintenance occasionally wipe all over the wood and crystal with a clean dry cloth using a nut or plant oil. Avoid wiping the chain on pendants especially the hand sewn chains.

Wood Care

Wood Rings and wood Pendants are best worn occasionally rather then every or all day.Never wear handmade jewellery whilst doing manual work, cleaning, lifting or doing strenuous activities. Also be aware when lifting heavy items (even your suitcase!).Also avoid wearing when using perfume, washing, swimming and resting. If you’re unsure, take it off and save yourself the disappointment of a broken jewel.

Brass Care

Brass may tarnish over time however, it is a very easy metal to clean and look after:simply wipe with clean dry cloth when needed.
However, contact with sprays and creams including soap, perfume, moisturiser and sun cream may cause damage so please avoid whilst wearing Waiata jewellery.
